Why does Autonomi need its own currency?

Two simple reasons:

1. Rewarding resources. The network runs on people’s spare hard drive space and bandwidth. Those who contribute by running a node are paid in Autonomi tokens.
2. Paying for storage. When you upload files, posts, or other data, you pay a small one-time fee in tokens. After that, your data is stored forever. It’s a way to fund the system without selling your personal information.

(Think back to the saying: “If it’s free, you’re the product.” Autonomi flips that around—you pay directly, and you stay in control.)
